A glimpse into our history
Our story begins in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, where a young boy, at the age of eight, was living with his Uncles. After losing his father two years prior, Abdulaziz Khogeer started helping out with the household income. For income, he helped pilgrims perform Umrah around the Kabaa then Safa and Marwa reciting to them all the prayers off-by-heart. The pilgrims admired him, and he soon gained his reputation as a Mutawif.
Sheikh Abdulaziz Khogeer was a self-made entrepreneur and a pioneer in the industry.
Over 60 years ago, Sheikh Abdulaziz greeted his first group of Indians from South Africa.
He was one of the first to offer packaged services between Makkah and Madinah – complete with catering and transportation. He also established “Abdulaziz Khogeer Hotels” which later became Alhussam, the company you know and love today. Until his old age, Abdulaziz was highly involved in the company he built and established, slowly passing it down to four of his sons: Nabil, Khalid, Mohammad and Mazen.
Alhussam grew and evolved during the management of the four sons, who expanded its local and overseas network of travel agents.
Today, the legacy of the late Sheikh Abdulaziz Khogeer continues to grow in the hands of his grandchildren.
Our Founder Sheikh Abdulaziz Khogeer always put his Pilgrims first. He believed One should always “Seek rewards from Allah before you seek financial rewards”.
